Project Description

It was essential that the landscape details echo the proportion of the house facade so that "qi" flows appropriately. The cascading entryway with black basalt steps and custom steel planters in the front of the home creates "qi". The planters were formed from cold rolled stainless steel with brass patina. ​

Continuing the flow in the backyard was also vital. The small patio is surrounded by lush plantings and creates pockets of space and a short concrete planter forms a backrest for the built in bench. Finally, the rounded water feature as well as the sweep of the patio edge both reinforce "feng shui".
